It’s hot outside! Warm summer days are great for frozen treats, like icy drinks and popsicles. You know who else could use a frozen treat to cool off? Your cat! Like dogs, cats can also overheat and suffer from heatstroke. It’s important to be mindful of your cat’s temperature as much as your own and your dogs’. A great way to help keep your cat cool? This homemade catsicle recipe! Your cat will love it.

Catsicles recipe

15 – 8-ounce plastic cups
1 – 5.5-ounce can of your cat’s favourite wet food (such as Nutrience Natural Turkey
& Chicken Pâté)
Catnip and/or soft cat treats
One small square of plastic wrap

Mix cat food with catnip/cat treats (the same way you would mix in chocolate chips). Fill each plastic cup with ½ an inch of cat food mixture. Stack the cups one on top of the other, covering the top cup with saran wrap. Place in freezer overnight. Pull the frozen treats from the freezer as needed from the bottom cup. Place treat in a deep bowl and allow it to sit five minutes before serving.
